In the first two days, thousands of pupils participated to the Iasi Science Festival. They played with the robots of the 鈥淕heorghe Asachi鈥 Technical University of Iasi or studied the mysteries of the brain at the Medical Sciences Arena in front of the 鈥淕rigore T. Popa鈥 University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
The pupils crowded the UMP in spite of the dreary weather on Monday and Tuesday, when the rain gathered the people in the pavilion or inside the university. Ph.D. Prof. Doina Azoicai explained that an agreement has been reached with the Technical University and volunteer students guided the pupils who visited their institution to enter de Medical University and vice versa.
A similar statement was issued by the TUIASI representatives. 鈥淲e were delighted by their enthrallment鈥, explained Ph.D. Prof. Irina Lungu, vice-rector at the higher education institution. She mentioned that every day, over 1500 鈥 1600 pupils came from all the grades of the surrounding counties, sometimes even from outside Moldavia. 鈥淭here were very young pupils asking candid questions about the secrets of the trade, albeit being far from making any actual step towards a career. They were the most curious. The teenagers were not so eager to ask questions. However, I believe they were very excited about all our students has shown them鈥, added the vice-rector. She also mentioned that this context helped them to change the general idea that the technical school and engineering are difficult endeavors.
The pupils visiting the Technical Sciences Arena were most impressed by the robots from each stand of the 11 faculties. Furthermore, beyond the practical aspects of the student life, they were very much impressed by the state of the facilities. Above all, they enjoyed the Library, which has been voted the most beautiful in the world on the boredpanda.com platform. 鈥淭here is a general tour of the university starting in the Aula Magna and continuing through the Library, then the Technical Sciences Arena in the Hall of the Echoing Steps. The main attraction was the hall and the library. It was a surprise for them, and although they have seen photos, it was nothing compared to the real thing鈥, concluded Ph.D. Prof. Irina Lungu.
